Romance Your Loved One

Where is the romance? As you read these everyday ideas you'll find that it is all around you.

Life is romancing us everyday. You can easily share this spirit with those you love and care about.

When you love something you like it a lot. You like it very much. You have a certain tender affection for it.

You can love a person. You can love an object. (I love chocolate !)

What about romance? You are fascinated with someone or something. It's a spirit of adventure, excitement and the exotic. (I used to have a romance with my Camaro .)

These everyday ideas for romance can be applied to lots of relationships. They could be considered everyday ideas for love.

Use them to make your loved ones feel special.

Little love letters are always a hit:

Send a card or letter filled with confetti so that when they open it the confetti spills out.

Fill someone's car or floor of a room with air filled balloons. Put a slip of paper with a reason why you love them in each balloon. When your loved one finds them they will have fun popping each balloon and reading the messages inside.

Make a pizza and write a message on it with one of the toppings.

Write a poem for your loved one and leave it on the seat of the car, in their briefcase, in their lunch box or someplace else unexpected.

When someone has a birthday take whatever their age is (sixteen for example) and write a letter telling them sixteen different ways they ...make your life better... drive you crazy... make the world a better place... you get the idea.

Leave a note with a compass or GPS saying , ¨ You can't lose me.¨

Write a note for your loved one in the condensation of the mirror after a shower. I saw the remains of one of these in a hotel room. A child had written I love you dad, thanks for the trip.

Cut a note to your loved one into pieces to make a puzzle. Leave it someplace unexpected for your loved one to find all at once. Or mail them one piece at a time. This is great for a child who is away at college. It also works with a picture too.

Make up your top ten reasons why you love them on a separate heart shaped papers. Put the papers in a envelope or wrap them up in a small box.

Stay in touch with your inner child and don't be afraid to play some games to romance your loved one.

Play hide and seek.

Hide and leave clues to help your loved one find you. You can leave one big clue or make a clue that leads to a clue and eventually to you.

Blindfold your loved one and lead them to a surprise.

Food is the way to a person's heart and candy isn't a bad way to romance them either.

Who doesn't love the scene in the movie Juno where the girl fills her boyfriend's mailbox with orange Tic Tacs (his favorite candy)?

Put your loved ones favorite candy someplace unexpected - it doesn't have to be the mailbox. Keep your loved one's favorite candy on hand.

Put 365 chocolate kisses in a container so your loved on has a kiss for everyday of the year.

Make a trail of Hershey kisses on the floor where you know your loved one will be walking. At the end leave a note saying, "I kiss the ground you walk on.¨

Make breakfast in bed (or in the kitchen) for someone you love.

The ever popular heart shaped pancakes are always a hit... or what about a fruit parfait?

What about the bathroom?

Draw up a special bath for your loved one. This can be as simple or as elaborate as you choose. Engrave a special message on the bar of soap. Think bubblebath... colored water... candles...champagne...rose petals floating in the water... It depends on the age and relationship of the person you are pampering.

If its appropriate - hop in the tub with them and take a bubble bath together.

Buy matching pajamas. Lots of people do this during the holidays. Why not anytime during the year?

Warm a towel in the dryer and give it to your loved one when they get out of the bath or shower.

Everyday ideas can be romantic when done on the spur of the moment or for no reason.

Cuddle up and watch a movie together.

Make a personalized CD with all their favorite songs.

Take a walk at night. Try it when there's a full moon. Try it on the beach. Some parks are open 24/7. But be safe.

Kiss your loved one unexpectedly. Both children and spouses like to be woke up with a kiss.

Look your loved one in the eyes and listen when they are talking.

They say 70% of communication is in touch. Hug more. Hold hands. Put your arm around them.

Put fresh flowers in your house.

Put a fresh cut flower someplace unexpected. Like that car seat. Or briefcase, or lunch box.

Are you noticing that romance is often a surprise or unexpected?

It seems to show someone that you appreciate them and take the time to make them feel special.
